Become a Gravity Tester
Help us test early builds of Gravity on Google Play during our Closed Testing phase before our public release. Gravity is an air-gapped, typography-first Android home screen engineered to eliminate dopamine loops and keep you focused.
How to Join the Test
Google Play requires testers to follow 3 quick steps in order to download the closed test build:
Join the Google Group
Google Play only allows authorized accounts to install closed test builds. Joining our free Google Group immediately whitelists your account.
Accept the Test Invite
After joining the group, open the Google Play testing link on the web and click "Become a Tester" to link your device.
Download from Google Play
Open the Play Store on your Android phone and install Gravity. Future updates will arrive automatically through Google Play.
What to Test
Minimalist Clocks
Test all 6 styles: Bauhaus Analog (with battery perimeter rim), Solar Halo, Razor Horizon, Stacked Digital, Glance Pill, Editorial.
Typography Engine
Switch between Inter, JetBrains Mono, Condensed, Serif, and Light typefaces. Verify font scaling and live preview smoothness.
Mindful Reflection Pauses
Set 5s–15s pauses on distracting apps and test the subtle top-edge session budget indicator.
Biometric-Safe Double-Tap
Double-tap home space to lock. Verify that fingerprint and face unlock remain active without requiring PIN entry.
Fast Search & Renaming
Give apps custom aliases and test dual-search indexing speed across your installed app list.
Air-Gapped Offline Check
Check Android App Info / Permissions: confirm that INTERNET permission is omitted from Gravity.
Found a Bug or Have an Idea?
Your feedback directly shapes Gravity. Whether it's a layout glitch, a clock idea, an accessibility issue, or simply "this button felt slow"—every message helps us build a better tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Google Play say "App not available for this account"?
This happens if your Google account hasn't been added to the closed test yet. Follow these two quick fixes:
- Ensure you completed Step 1 and joined the Google Group.
- Make sure you are logged into Google Play (both in your browser and on your phone) with the exact same Google account you used to join the group.
Is Gravity completely safe and private?
Yes, 100%. Gravity intentionally omits the android.permission.INTERNET permission from its Android manifest. This means the app is technically incapable of sending any data over the internet, to Google, or to our servers. There are zero ads, zero trackers, and zero analytics.
How long should I keep Gravity installed?
For as long as you'd like! However, keeping it installed and using it occasionally helps our developer account meet Google Play's testing benchmarks. We release updates regularly to fix issues and add community-requested features.
Can I invite friends or colleagues?
Absolutely! Feel free to share this page link (shivamgravity.com/products/gravity/tester) with anyone who appreciates minimal, distraction-free software.
